Download only part of a video
Most downloaders make you take the whole file and cut it afterwards. Awesome Downloader lets you set a start and end timecode first, so only that window ever transfers. For anyone pulling a few seconds of B-roll out of a forty minute upload, that is the difference between a 2 GB download and a 14 MB one.

How it works
Paste your link, then tick Download only part of this video. Two timecode fields appear. Type a start and an end in minutes and seconds.
The clip length and estimated file size update live as you type, so you can see what you are about to pull before you commit to it. Adjust the range until the size looks right, then download.
Why this saves so much time
A forty minute video at 1080p is a few gigabytes. If you need twenty seconds of it, downloading the whole thing wastes bandwidth, disk space and the minutes you spend waiting, and then you still have to open an editor and trim it.
Requesting only the range you want removes all of that. On a slow connection it is the difference between a coffee break and a few seconds.
Built for editing work
This feature exists because the person who wrote the app edits video and kept hitting the same problem: needing a short cutaway from a long upload, and having to fetch the entire thing to get at it.
The output is a normal file that drops straight onto a timeline. There is no proprietary container and no re-encode you did not ask for.
