A video downloader built for editors

This app exists because its author edits video and got tired of paying a subscription for something that should be simple. Every decision in it comes from that: clip before you download, queue a batch and walk away, get files that drop onto a timeline without a transcode step.

Clipping a section of footage by timecode for use in a video edit

Take the clip, not the upload

Needing eight seconds of a twenty minute video is the normal case in an edit, not the exception. Set the in and out points before downloading and only that range transfers.

The estimated size updates as you drag the range, so on a deadline you can see immediately whether it is a five second wait or a five minute one.

Queue a session's worth of research

Paste every link you gathered while researching a cut and they stack as cards, each with its own quality picker. Start all and go do something else.

The queue is saved to disk, so closing the app or rebooting does not lose the list. Anything that failed can be retried from its own card rather than re-pasted.

Stills and reference

The Images tab pulls whole galleries from Instagram, Pinterest and similar in one pass, which is the usual way a look-book or a colour reference board gets assembled.

Thumbnails can be saved on their own from the video tab, which is often all you need for a storyboard.

Files that behave

Output is standard MP4 or MP3 at the resolution you asked for. There is no proprietary wrapper, no watermark, and no re-encode you did not request, so footage lands on a timeline without a conform step.

For audio work the bitrate is yours to choose, with the file size shown before you commit.

Questions

Will the downloads work in Premiere or DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. Files come out as standard MP4 or MP3 with no proprietary container and no watermark, so they import directly.
Can I download just the part of the clip I need?
Yes. Set a start and end timecode before downloading and only that range transfers, with the file size shown live as you adjust it.
Is there a watermark on downloaded video?
No. Nothing is added to the file. The app does not re-encode unless you ask it to change format.
