YouTube video downloader for Windows
Awesome Downloader is a free desktop application for Windows 10 and 11 that saves video and audio from YouTube and around 1,750 other sites. Paste a link, pick a quality, and the file lands in your folder. There is no account to create, no advertising, and nothing behind a subscription.

Downloading a video
Copy the link from your browser's address bar and paste it into the Video tab. The app reads the page, then shows you the title, channel, duration and a thumbnail so you can confirm you have the right one before anything transfers.
The quality list is built from what that particular video actually offers, rather than a fixed menu. A video published in 4K shows 2160p; one that only ever existed at 720p will not pretend otherwise. Pick a row and press Download.
Audio only
Switch the format toggle to Audio and the app fetches the audio stream on its own and writes an MP3, rather than pulling the full video down and discarding the picture. For a long podcast or a music set that is the difference between a few megabytes and a few hundred.
The bitrate selector shows the estimated file size as you change it, so you can see the trade before committing.
Several links at once
Paste any number of links and each becomes its own card with its own resolution picker, because different videos offer different quality ladders. Start all runs the queue in order.
The queue survives closing the app. Links you lined up are still waiting next time you open it, along with the quality you chose and any clip range you set. Cancelling a download returns it to the queue rather than discarding it.
Why there is no web version
Browser-based downloaders run the transfer through someone else's server, which is why they cap quality, insert advertising, or ask you to wait. A desktop application connects your computer directly to the source, so there is no middleman to pay for and no queue to sit in.
It also means the links you paste are never sent to us. The request goes from your machine to the site hosting the video.
